About Four Paw Savings!

Hello, and welcome to Four Paw Savings! My name is Nicki, and I am the human voice behind the blog.

For as long as I can remember I have been a deal-seeking, coupon cutting lady. No, I'm not like those people on Extreme Couponing, but I am really good at getting things for free or at a great price. For years I had been helping my mother save money on caring for her 5 (at one point 6!) rescue dogs - with that many, she certainly welcomed the help! So when I took in my two kittens last June I was no stranger to finding pet deals. I began searching the internet for deals the day I brought them home, and realized quickly that there were many many sites on deals for humans, but only a few for pet deals. Thus the beginning of Four Paw Savings.

My two kittens, Boots and Bruin (the feline voices on the blog), have completely opened up my eyes to a new and wonderful world of pet ownership. They completely brighten my day, are part of my family, and I cannot imagine a world without them. I now understand why people love their pets so much. A few months ago we also took in Odin, adding a third cat to our family. He is FIV+, believed to be around 15-years-old, and is blind. He was scheduled to be put down, but something inside made me realize he was meant to be with us. He has already taught us so much about compassion and living life to the fullest, and how sometimes the most unexpected events in life are the ones that make it all worth while.

Last November I began working with a small, local food bank to help distribute pet food to persons in need. Our hope is to help pets remain at home with their families when financial difficulties hit, thus reducing the number of surrendered and abandoned pets. The program has gotten a wonderful response, and it is with the help of the deals I post on Four Paw Savings that this program is possible.

I hope you enjoy my blog, and that you are able to take advantage of the savings posted on Four Paw Savings. I do ask that you please remember that even if the deal is for a product you may not use, there are many rescues and shelters that could greatly use the donation. I love to receive comments from my readers, so feel free to leave some. Thank you, and happy savings!
